The practice is located in Tuam Primary Care Centre, which is a modern purpose-built health care facility, with a range of Primary Care Services located in the one building. In Tuam Family Practice we look forward to working with other members of the primary care team to optimize outcomes for out patients.
Our Team
Dr Máire McGarry
Dr McGarry graduated from NUIG in 2009 with an honours degree. She completed her Specialist Training Scheme in General Practice in 2015, and has since worked as a GP in a number of practices in Co. Galway. She has completed further training in Women’s Health and Paediatrics, and has diplomas in Child Health and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She has a Certificate in Family Planning, and has also completed further training in the insertion of Long-acting Reversible Contraceptives (Mirena coil and Implanon) and holds a LARC certificate.
Dr Fiona Harrison
Dr Fiona Harrison joined the team in September 2018.
Dr Harrison is also a graduate of NUIG (2009 class) and completed her MICGP (specialist training in General Practice) in July 2018.
Nurse Gerardene Mannion
Gerardene completed a Bachelor of Nursing Science in 2007 at NUIG and subsequently completed a Higher Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety & Hygiene in 2009 at NUIG. She is a highly experienced Practice Nurse who has worked in General Practice for over 6 years. Gerardene’s key interest areas are Diabetes, Cardiovascular Health, Childhood Immunisations, Women’s Health and Travel Health.
